There is a path between Rolle and the Colle del Candolè, where the nose reaches before the eyes: a slow-moving aroma of wood and meat that accompanies those who climb up to Cà Leonilda, a family-run agriturismo nestled among the vineyards of Prosecco DOCG, just a few minutes from La Corte di Marga. It is not a restaurant in the conventional sense of the term: it is the cuisine of a country house that has opened its doors, where grandmother, great-grandmother, grandchildren and other relatives share the stove and dining room to make every guest feel a bit like family.
If you are looking for an authentic gastronomic experience, away from the more touristy circuits of the Prosecco Hills, this corner of Rolle is worth a stop.
Cà Leonilda is located in Via Caneve de Ronch, in the locality of Rolle — a hamlet of Cison di Valmarino included among the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy and protected by the FAI for its terraced vineyard landscape. From the nearby Colle del Candolè, the view stretches out over Rolle, Arfanta and the rows of Prosecco that surround the property: a setting that alone is worth the climb.
The structure is designed to accommodate families and groups: a spacious outdoor veranda with about 60 seats (which can be closed on warmer days), a more intimate indoor lounge, and a living room on the upper floor that can accommodate another 50. All around, a spacious green area where children can move freely while the adults wait their turn at the table.

The heart of Cà Leonilda’s cuisine is the spit, which here is almost like a family member: it turns up early in the morning, slowly roasting chicken, rabbit and other meats from the traditional Veneto peasant cuisine, to be served with polenta. Alongside the spit, the menu follows the seasons: “de casada” (homemade) cold cuts with homemade mustards, gnocchi, soups, crepes, lasagna, tagliatelle and risottos according to the vegetable calendar, stew, rabbit, “gallo, tocio e polenta” — a local traditional peasant dish based on a chicken cooked in its own sauce. To finish off, the pastry shop is once again home-made: strudel, spoon sweets and crumbles made from the apples from the own production.
The restaurant offers both a fixed menu priced at 38€ per person (mixed appetizers, starters, a choice of main course, two side dishes, dessert and coffee; reservations are required in advance) and a la carte option for those who prefer to assemble their meal plate by plate.
Cà Leonilda is open from mid-February to the end of December, mainly on weekends (Friday, Saturday and Sunday); on weekdays it is available by reservation or for groups; therefore it is always advisable to call first before organizing the visit. The access road is the same as the Monaco-Venice road that passes through Rolle, not far from Molinetto della Croda; for those arriving by car, the most convenient motorway exit is Vittorio Veneto Sud (A27).
