In winter, when fog slowly rises from the reeds and ice can ripple the shores, the charm of this place becomes almost mystical.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Prehistory: The Village of Livelet<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The shores of the lakes were not always so quiet. In the Neolithic period, this valley was home to an active and ingenious community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The Piles<\/strong>: Archaeological findings have confirmed the presence of pile-dwelling settlements. Today, the <strong>Livelet Park<\/strong> reconstructs three types of prehistoric dwellings, providing insight into how our ancestors managed hunting, fishing and weaving.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>A protected ecosystem<\/strong>: The lakes are relict glacial basins that have preserved a unique micro-environment, fundamental to the biodiversity of the Pre-Alps.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Winged Lion: The Seal of the Serenissima<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The influence of Venice came through, leaving indelible marks in the local architecture and heraldry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The Lion of St. Mark<\/strong>: Walking through the village of Revine Lago, one comes across the symbol of the Venetian Republic: the <strong>Winged Lion<\/strong>. Carved in stone, the Lion was not just a decorative frieze, but a tangible sign of Venice's protection and dominion over these strategic valleys, which provided timber and resources to the lagoon city.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Venetian Architecture<\/strong>: Many historic farmhouses and palazzetti in the area recall the Venetian style, with the skilful use of local stone and portico structures, ideal for protection from the winter climate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Winter at the Lake: Trekking and Silence<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In winter, the main activity is the <strong>slow and contemplative trekking<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The Tour of the Lakes<\/strong>: A flat route of about 7 km connects the two basins. It is perfect for those seeking an invigorating walk in the open air without excessive inclines.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Birdwatching<\/strong>: Winter is the best time to observe migratory birds wintering in the reed beds.
