If you're looking for a hike that embodies the wild and contemplative soul of the Prealps, the trail towards Pianezze di Miane It's a unmissable gem. Here, at an altitude of 830 metres, the clearing opens up to reveal a lake with a small island that seems straight out of a fairy tale, surrounded by woods that change colour with each season.

For our guests at The Court of Marga, this hike has a special flavour: we are indeed exactly on Via Postcode, the access road that leads to the heart of the path.

This route will take you to the beautiful clearing of Pianezze, then to the small lake with its islet and the panoramic cliff overlooking the Val D’Agre, and on the way back you will find the small waterfalls of the valley stream. Along the route, you will encounter numerous “CASERE,” ancient rural structures made of stone or a mix of stone and wood, historically used as mountain huts for milk processing, grazing, and shelter for shepherds.

🧭 The Two Starting Options

We have studied the route to offer you maximum flexibility:

1. Soft Departure (By Car) Following Via Pos Comun from the structure, reach the location Miane Post Box (m 480) in a few minutes. There you can park and start the 8 km loop.
2. “Heroic” Departure (On Foot from the Courtyard): You can exit directly from your suite and walk up Via Pos Comun. This will add approximately 10 minutes round trip to the total journey, allowing you to experience Car-free total, enjoying the climb among the renovated houses and the first views of the valley.

🥾 The Route: The “Meticulous” Guide”

Warning: while the ascent is well-marked, the descent requires a keen eye and precision. Follow these directions to stay on track:

• L'Ascesa (CAI 988) From the Casella car park, take the paved path that goes up towards the north. The CAI path no. 988 is well-marked and will lead you through a striking woodland to the splendid clearing of Pianezze.
• The Pond (830m): Once you reach the body of water with its unique islet, take time for a contemplative stop. From here, moving west, you will enjoy a breathtaking aerial view of Follina and Valmareno.
• The “Technical” Descent (The Secret Crossroads): Begin the descent along the path CAI no. 1076. Be very careful: after less than 10 minutes of walking, you will come to an unmarked fork in the road. Here you must Turn right following a path indicated simply by the word “Follina” (leaving the 1076 which continues to the left).
• The Return The path descends through deciduous woodland to a small bridge over the valley stream. Cross it and climb up the opposite bank to meet the tarmac road which, via two hairpin bends, will take you back to Casella di Miane.

The Final Award: Verdiso and Sapidity

After 4 hours of walking, your body will ask for refreshment. As a Sommelier de The Court of Marga, I will wait for you for a technical tasting of Verdiso.
